Chigiri is the Japanese word for the butterfly joint, a term that also means a strong connection.

When given as a gift the Chigiri plate is symbolic of the personal tie between the giver and the receiver.

The Chigiri plate was designed to make good use of short and narrow timber offcuts. The wood is sourced from urban trees from the Canberra region, farm trees and a sustainable forestry project in Gifu, Japan.

Timber: Maple (convex side), Redgum (concave side).

Care: Hand wash with a mild soap. Avoid submerging in water. Dry immediately.
